Position Description: CMKL University invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Innovation and Entrepreneurship. We seek dynamic candidates committed to excellence in research, teaching, and service, and who are passionate about shaping the future of innovation and entrepreneurship education in Southeast Asia and beyond.This position is part of CMKL’s strategic initiative to integrate technology, business, and societal impact through interdisciplinary education and research. The successful candidate will contribute to curriculum development and teaching in areas such as entrepreneurial thinking, venture creation, startup finance, and innovation strategy. The role also includes mentoring students, supervising projects, and contributing to the university’s outreach and industry engagement efforts.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct high-quality research in innovation, entrepreneurship, or related areas (e.g., startup ecosystems, venture capital, corporate innovation, tech commercialization).
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in entrepreneurship, innovation management, or related business areas.
- Develop experiential learning opportunities including startup labs, pitch competitions, incubator/accelerator collaborations, or innovation challenges.
- Advise students and mentor startup teams or capstone projects.
- Participate in service roles at the department and university level, including curriculum development and community engagement initiatives.
Preferred Areas of Experience
- Experience teaching at the university level in entrepreneurship, business strategy, innovation, or related fields.
- Experience as a startup founder, CEO, or product development manager.
- Venture capital, angel investing, or startup advisory experience.
- Interdisciplinary research or collaborations between business and technology.
- Familiarity with Southeast Asian or global startup ecosystems.
QualificationsBasic Qualifications (Required at the time of application):
- Ph.D., DBA, or equivalent terminal degree in entrepreneurship, innovation, business administration, or a closely related field (ABD candidates nearing completion may also be considered).
- OR a Master’s degree (MBA or related) with substantial professional and entrepreneurial experience in lieu of a doctorate.
- Minimum two years of experience in venture capital, startup investment, or corporate innovation roles.
- Demonstrated ability to produce applied or academic research relevant to innovation and entrepreneurship.
